Continuing the Legacy, Embracing the Future and Amplifying the Voices of the World Christian Movement
WELCOME TO THE OVERSEAS MINISTRIES STUDY CENTER
The mission of the Overseas Ministries Study Center at Princeton Theological Seminary (OMSC@PTS) is to amplify the voices of the world Christian movement by supporting and promoting scholars and artists from Asia, Africa, Latin America, Oceania, and diaspora communities. Founded in Ventnor, New Jersey, in 1922 by Marguerite and Ida Doane, OMSC@PTS carries on its legacy of fellowship while embracing a newfound commitment to ecumenism, scholarship, and educational equity. OMSC@PTS serves as the hub for World Christianity scholars through residential study programs, public lectures, research grants, online learning, and the highest circulating peer-reviewed journal in the field, the International Bulletin of Mission Research.
Each year, OMSC at Princeton Theological Seminary welcomes to campus a new group of Resident Scholars from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Oceania and from every Christian tradition.
The IBMR is committed to engaging with primary sources, whether through archives, oral histories, or ethnography. The IBMR provides an editorial voice that is dispassionate, analytical, and nonpartisan.
For over 100 years, OMSC has been dedicated to amplifying the voices of the world Christian movement. Integral to our mission of lifting up the often silent or silenced voices of the world Christian movement is our Artist in Residence program.
OMSC is pleased to offer multiple scholarships, including the Lamin Sanneh Research Grants, and the English Translations of Christian Scholarship.
